ECC Parent Visit Days
Parents may play with our students in the ECC Outdoor Classroom on Wednesdays (starting from May 5th) from 10:30 – 11:00. Please note the following guidelines:
- Let your child’s teacher know if you will be coming to visit (via ClassDojo)
- You do not need to speak English fluently to enjoy spending time with your child at school
- Leave at 11:00 or when the students line up to go inside
- If weather does not permit students to go outside, outdoor parent play-time will be cancelled (rain or high AQI)
- Younger siblings may join with parent supervision
Parents are welcome to eat with their child during the elementary lunch times on Wednesdays. We are excited to open our cafeteria to parents again. In order to make the process smooth, we ask that you eat with your child at the designated areas only. Parents may use the section to the left of the cafeteria, as you enter through the main doors. We also ask that you bring or purchase food items for your child only. This will help us facilitate a safe and enjoyable lunch experience for all our students.

2021 Tianjin International School Science Fair
The 2021 TIS Science Fair season has begun! This year’s Science Fair will be held on the morning of Friday Nov. 26th. Consistently those teams which have placed in the top 3 for the TIS Science Fair have started researching and planning for their projects before the summer break so interested students should contact Mr. Lundy at this email address: firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
Students who contact Mr. Lundy will be added to the new TIS Canvas Science Fair page which has the instructions for registration (open now, closes August 31st after this no new projects will be accepted), important forms and rules, some information about past projects and resources for finding science fair ideas!
Two important things to keep in mind:
1: Projects must be ORIGINAL.
2: Teams may not be larger than 3 students
We invite you to learn more about the prestigious Claremont Colleges - Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, Pomona, and Scripps Colleges - a consortium of five undergraduate institutions located in one square mile in sunny Claremont, California. Our distinct colleges, also known as the "5Cs", are united by a spirit of collaboration and connectivity that influences academics, athletics, and student life. With shared resources across the consortium, like the Claremont Colleges Library and over 250 clubs and organizations, students at the "5Cs" experience the best of both worlds: the ability to attend a small, tightly-focused college while also enjoying the benefits of a larger college or university.
We encourage you to attend our upcoming virtual events to learn more about both our shared and institutionally unique approaches to a liberal arts education.

These days it is easy for people to get respiratory system infections, so we need to pay attention to personal hygiene and maintain a healthy environment to prevent infectious diseases. This serves as a reminder that hand hygiene and wearing a mask are some of the BEST ways to prevent the spread of germs.
Even though there are no confirmed local COVID-19 cases, TIS continues to observe the COVID-19 policies set by the Education Bureau. Please help us to maintain a safe and healthy environment at school by not sending your child to school if they are ill, have a cough or runny nose that cannot be independently controlled inside a classroom, fever at or above 37.3˚C (99.1˚F), rash related with illness (chicken pox, measles, roseola, etc.), or have vomited or had diarrhea (3 or more watery stools in a day) from sickness in the past 24 hours. Your child must be fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medication to return to school. All staff and students that report a fever of 37.3 or above will go to the fever clinic to complete a COVID-19 test and will not be permitted on the school campus until they have been symptom free for 24 hours and have a negative COVID-19 test.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep TIS a healthy and safe environment.
