Week of 03-21-22

Hear from the Head

Key points from Mr. Ryan Witt

  • Empathize with parents about the challenge we face at being home with our kids, whilst having other commitments.

  • Appreciate the resolve in our teachers who have continued to listen, make adjustments, and work with the principals to understand the best way to deliver education. Also, appreciate the flexibility they have shown.

  • Thankful for the ideas from the parent body. Ideas and suggestions are processed by the leadership team with a focus on how they line up with our strategic plan as well as with educational best practices.

  • The recent suggestion to see if Spring Break can be moved forward to potentially have more in-classroom time here at school is an interesting and valued idea. However, when processed in light of the criteria stated as well as best practices and habits in regards to managing the calendar we decided that suggestion would have a major impact on many people’s lives and the objectives, plans and goals teachers have set for their classes. Moving Spring Break forward would negatively affect major parts of the community, so, while we value this idea, we have decided that is something we are not going to do.

  • Next Wednesday afternoon, there will be a live "Hear from the Head". Further discussion on current issues and a Q&A time. Please look out for details in the coming days.

  • Encourage you to continue moving forward and pressing on.

NOTE: After the recording of the video message, the school received an updated policy from the local authorities that to help mitigate the current risk of COVID-19 spreading, teaching staff will no longer be permitted on-campus. Therefore, starting tomorrow all teachers will be teaching from home .
