Quarter 1 Parent Survey

Parents, we want to continually build better connection and communication between the school and yourselves. With quarter 1 behind us we want to hear your thoughts in a variety of areas. Divisional News
Home Visits
Oct. 22
The ECC home visits were a success. Thank you for opening your home up to the teachers. It is an excellent time for the teachers to connect with your child outside of school. We are looking forward to another great week at school together.
Parent Conferences
Oct. 22
Elementary parent conferences were a success. Thank you for coming in to meet with your child’s teacher. It is an excellent time for teachers and parents to meet and talk about how we can support your child's education together. We are looking forward to the second week of the second quarter.
ISCOT
Oct. 22
Monday is ISCOT. If your child signed up to attend ISCOT at IST, please help them to remember:
~ A home lunch to eat before we leave TIS
~ Water bottle
~ Running/soccer shoes
~ Shin guards and knee socks
~ A snack
~ The TIS soccer shirt (if your child needs a shirt, please contact Miss Wu at ex. 370)
The students are looking forward to a great day at the ISCOT soccer event.
TIANMUN
Oct. 22
TIANMUN has been a successful event. TIS hosted over 70 guests from local Tianjin schools as well as many others virtually. The students engaged in solving global issues while building relationships, leadership and public-speaking skills, and just having fun.
Parent Visit Days
Oct. 22
Thank you to all the parents who joined us in classes last Tuesday and Wednesday. It was a great support to the students and teachers seeing moms and dads taking the step to experience a class or day at school. Your presence was appreciated!
Student Led Conferences
Oct. 22
Student Led Conferences were a good opportunity for our students to learn to speak about their performance in class, their strengths, and how they can improve. Thank you to all the parents who took time from their busy day to support their children’s academic growth.
House Soccer Competition
Oct. 22
The House soccer competition will continue for the next couple weeks. Students compete in their House teams against their peers for bragging rights and the elusive House Soccer Championship. These games are played on Mondays during normally scheduled House time.
TIANMUN
Oct. 22
TIANMUN has been a successful event. TIS hosted over 70 guests from local Tianjin schools as well as many others virtually. The students engaged in solving global issues while building relationships, leadership and public-speaking skills, and just having fun.
Parent Visit Days

Thank you to all parents who were able to visit school during parent/teacher conferences. It was a good turn-out of parents this year. As always, parents are highly encouraged to engage with teachers if they have any questions or concerns about their student’s growth.
Volleyball
Oct. 22
The volleyball season was a success and finished with a Teacher/Student volleyball game last Wednesday. The Teachers are proud to have won the competitive game against the students. They did have the help of a “ringer” parent to lead the Teacher team onto victory, but the teachers prefer to just focus on the win! Great job teachers, well played!

University Counselor on campus

Season 2 Sign-ups

Season 2 athletic sign-up form was emailed to all secondary students this week. Student’s that are interested to join a season 2 team should fill out the form.
