Hear from the Head

TIS Family,

Welcome to the 2024–2025 Tianjin International School academic school year. The beginning of school is always an exciting time for educators and students. This past week, we welcomed parents and new students to our community on New Students Day. As these families transition into our community, I trust you will show them the warm welcome of TIS. Then, on Tuesday, returning students joined us, and the joyful reunion of people filled our building with excitement and our hearts with love as we began the journey of a new school year together.

Open House

We trust you will join us for the Open House on Friday, August 23rd. This annual event provides our community with the opportunity to hear from the Head of School about the new school year and teachers about what learning to expect in the classroom. It is always a wonderfully attended event because you, the parents of TIS students, are actively engaged in partnering together in the education of children.

Upcoming Highlights

Please take notice of a few events that will take place during the first couple months of school:

  • Fall Camp for 7th—12th grade students is scheduled for the last week of September. It provides students with a deeper connection with their classmates and teachers, strengthening them and equipping them for the rigorous school year.
  • International Day is October 11th. This all-day celebration provides families with the opportunity to share and learn about the cultures represented in our TIS Family.
  • The LifePlus High School Volleyball Tournament will be held in Tianjin from October 17th-19th. This is a rare opportunity to host this tournament in Tianjin, so I hope you put it on your calendars and plan on joining us to make this event exciting.

This year marks TIS’s 39th year of providing excellent education in Tianjin. We are glad you have chosen to join us, and we are excited for what lies ahead.
