Annual Fun Run/BBQ Event

We want to say thank you to all the students and parents that came out to participate in the 2K/BBQ event.  The water activities were a hit on such a hot day and the climbing wall drew lots of students as well waiting for their chance to climb!  Thank you also to the PTO for helping organize and run the event.

The event proved to be a great time for everyone to enjoy good food, community, exercise, and to support our Summer Trips students.

We are excited for our students to go on the Summer Trips to Chang Bai Shan and Yunnan.  The 2K/BBQ event raised over 12,000RMB total and this money will be distributed to all of the participants evenly.

Thank you, Mr. Strong

Library Announcement

This summer, both TIS libraries will be closed for renovations as we will be changing out the carpeting. We are uncertain how long the process will take, but if the renovations finish early enough to still have summer library hours, we will send out a notification. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope you will still find ways to read!!

Tetanus Immunizations

I want to encourage you to take advantage of summer travels outside of China to catch up on immunizations, especially Tetanus.  The tetanus booster is restricted inside China for children over 11 years old, so please check your child’s records to ensure that his/her tetanus is current. If your child’s last tetanus immunization was in 2009 or before, it is time for a booster.   A current tetanus vaccination is required for trips at TIS.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at nurse@tiseagles.com.

Thank you, Mrs. Jeanne Luman, RN

Athletics

Thank you to everyone who has supported TIS Athletics this year whether as a fan, parent, teacher, administrator, or as a nurse.  This support of TIS Athletics come in many forms from purchasing tickets, arranging transportation, and cheering on the sidelines during our competitions.

I want to especially recognize all the Middle School and High School student-athletes who have participated in TIS Athletics this year.  They have spent countless hours practicing their sport and competing against other teams.

I want to say thank you to the many volunteer coaches of the TIS Athletics department.  Your efforts and time spent planning, coaching, organizing and evaluating do not go unnoticed.  We would not be able to field 17 teams without your significant contributions.

This year in TIS Athletics we had a total of 17 different teams, 34 coaches, approximately 190 student-athletes, and a total of 242 games played starting in August and ending in April.

I am proud of TIS Athletics and am looking forward to next year!
