AMIS Successful Auditions

AMIS stands for the Association for Music in International Schools.  It is an extremely prestigious International Music Association that attracts the top musicians from around the world.  A successful audition takes months of daily practice, and it is very competitive.  Please join me in congratulating the following students who earned a successful audition into the AMIS Honors Ensemble:

ECC Parent Conferences

Thank you for welcoming us into your home for our ECC home visits. We enjoyed spending time with you and your child. If you were not able have us come to your home, or if you have additional questions and concerns, please contact your child’s teacher for an in-school conference.

 

Class Assemblies

Please note the upcoming class assemblies. Parents of these classes are welcome to join from 8:30-8:50 a.m. in the Music and Movement Room of the ECC:

Upcoming – Donuts with Dad

Calling all Dads!! We hope you can join us on Monday, November 13th from 9:30-10:45 a.m. for our special Donuts with Dads day! You will get a chance to play with your child, get a picture together, and eat donuts!
This event is just for dads or grandpas. If you are unable to attend, we invite you to write a special note to be read to your child on that day, or call in using WeChat, Skype, or FaceTime.

Elementary Parent Conferences

Thank you to all of you who attended our Parent-Teacher Conferences. We are grateful for your interest in your child’s progress in our elementary school.

 

Teacher’s Conference

We will not have school on November 16th and 17th as all TIS teachers will be attending a conference.

 

Clubs Canceled on Wednesday

All after-school clubs are canceled on Wednesday (Nov. 15th) because teachers will be departing for the conference.

 

New Gym Floor!

We are excited to use our new gym floor, but we must take good care of it. Please help us by making sure that your child brings tennis shoes to school for PE.

 

Middle School Student Led Conferences

It has been a great two days of student led conferences. The students were challenged to prepare a report of their year’s work thus far and present it to their bosses (parents) and teachers. We trust great learning took place during the event and that all behavioral and academic questions were answered. Parents, you are encouraged to continue monitoring PowerSchool on a weekly basis as we continue this quarter and to contact teachers with questions or concerns.

 

Teacher’s Conference

There will be no classes on November 16th and 17th as all TIS teachers will be attending a conference. All students will be dismissed at 3:30 Wednesday, November 15th. There will be no after school activities on that day.

 

Thanksgiving Holiday

In observance of the American holiday of Thanksgiving, on November 23rd, TIS will have an early dismissal. Classes will convene on November 24.

 

Knowledge Bowl 2017!

Knowledge Bowl is coming soon! Parents are invited to watch this year’s Knowledge Bowl Competition. The theme is “Winter Olympics” and the competition will span two days, November 21 and 22, from 11:45 until 12:20. It will be held in the Auditorium.

TIANMUN 

I want to send a special thank you to everyone involved in TIANMUN this past weekend. Particularly, I want to thank Mr. Jacob Way and Ms. Sherry Wang for the work they put into ensuring that this weekend would be a success. TIS was represented well, because of your diligent efforts.
