CHINA DAY ~ Friday, 9th February

This year’s focus:  Historical Era ~ Sui/Tang Dynasty

China Day is to enhance what our students have learnt in their Chinese classes by spending a day immersed in Chinese related activities that will further enrich their education here in our Host Country.

First and foremost, it is a “normal” school day, meaning that we keep to the same beginning and ending school hours and the main focus is for our students.

It is encouraged for ALL students to wear either traditional Chinese clothes or please wear something red.  Theatre Arts does have quite a nice selection of Chinese clothes if you do not have anything to wear for China Day.

School lunch will be as any other day, with the cost being 24 RMB, you will receive a pre-packed “box lunch,” loving made and prepared by our TIS Kitchen.  Thank you, Mr. Liu JinWei and Staff.

Cultural Activities in the gym

All TIS students will receive a sheet of tickets for the activities. Additional tickets will be on sale at the Ticket Stall, which will be located at the entrance of the gym.  Cost per individual ticket is 5RMB, and the sheet is 45RMB.

Some activities will be interactive, for example, fan painting, playing ping pong, Photo Booth amongst other activities, whilst others are for watching the Chinese Artist, e.g. Sugar Art.

Other activities include; Shadow Figure Cutting, Chinese Yo-Yo, Chinese Calligraphy, Tangrams, and Clay Figures.  And there will also be the students’ favourites, such as Hawthorn Sticks and Candy Floss.
