If you have forgotten your password or have trouble accessing PowerSchool, please call the admissions office during school hours for assistance. ECC Parent Conferences

Thank you for welcoming us into your home for our ECC home visits. We enjoyed spending time with you and your child. If you were not able to have us come to your home, or if you have additional questions and concerns, please contact your child’s teacher for an in-school conference.

TIANMUN

TIANMUN began yesterday and will continue today (Friday) and tomorrow. The event will conclude at 4:30pm on Saturday.

 

Parent Day

Parents of middle school students are invited to join their children in school on Wednesday, October 31. It will be a time to better understand the experience of your children and classroom expectations. We hope you can make it!

Notes from the Middle School Principal

  • As the weather is getting cooler, please encourage your child to bring a light jacket or sweater in order to stay comfortable in class.
  • Several students will be traveling to Yantai next weekend to participate in the ISC MS Soccer Tournament. We wish them well.

We are excited about the excellent TIANMUN that took place this past weekend. Please express a special thank you to all of the staff that was involved in ensuring that TIANMUN VI was a great success.

Half Day

On Wednesday this week, all staff will be participating in an important professional development training. This time is extremely valuable to ensure that students continue to have a great educational experience at TIS. Busses will leave at 11:45 and all students are expected to leave campus.

Counselor’s Corner

The Bullying Campaign focus ends this week! Over the past two weeks students have discussed crossing cultural and social boundaries as a way of creating a more inclusive school environment. Students also had the opportunity to participate in ‘Mix It Up’ at Lunch. Students were encouraged to sit with different peers at lunch!

 

Upcoming: SAT Subject Tests-November 3, 2018

The Language with Listening Tests has specific requirements for acceptable CD players. This information can be found on the Collegeboard website.

  • As a reminder, acceptable CD players:
  • Must be equipped with headphones
  • Must be portable (handheld)
  • Must be battery operated (no power cords)
  • Cannot have recording or duplicating capabilities

Season 1 of TIS Athletics is underway and we are excited for the High School Volleyball and Middle School Soccer Seasons.  All High School and Middle School students are welcome to play sports at TIS.

    • Teams will leave TIS on Thursday, November 1st at 10:25 a.m.
    • Teams will take Train G473 departing Tianjin South Station at 12:26 p.m. and arriving in Yantai at 6:00 p.m.
  • Travel on Sunday, November 4th
    • Teams will take Tianjin Airlines Flight GS7922
    • Teams will depart the Yantai airport at 9:40 a.m. and land in Tianjin at 10:50 a.m.

Pink Ribbon Donation

This is TIS’ 6th year in supporting the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness campaign run by Tianjin Raffles Medical in conjunction with Tianjin Beichen Women and Children Hospital through TICC.  This year, we have raised over 20K RMB to support low income women to have free mammograms through our series of pink ribbon inspired events!

Thanks to everyone who contributed in making this campaign a success. We are thankful to have had the chance to assist women, financially, in receiving tests and to spread awareness about this disease.
