Principals’ Coffee

The first principals’ coffee is coming up on Wednesday, September 5 from 10 a.m. to noon.  Please submit your questions or topics to our Admissions Liaisons or fill out a suggestion box form outside the admission’s office. Principals ask that parents submit questions or topics ahead of time. Principals will then use the questions you submit to speak to issues that are important to you. The principals look forward to seeing many parents next Wednesday!

International Day – Friday, 12th October

Please mark your calendar for our Annual International Day, when classes stop to celebrate our cultural diversity here within our TIS Community.  This year’s focus country is New Zealand, however, we do most definitely welcome dances, songs and instrumental Pieces from other countries too.

So if you are a singer, dancer, musician, know martial arts or any other form of cultural entertainment which highlights your country, and its culture, please do contact Mrs. Williams ~ dawn.williams@tiseagles.com

Special Request:  In honour of our focus country, there will be a Haka.  This is a traditional Maori dance which you may have seen if you watch Rugby.  The NZ team, the All Blacks perform this dance before every game.

Hope that you will indeed be interested in learning this well-known Maori tradition.

We are looking for additional people, and invite both parents and students alike to come and learn the Haka and experience a little piece of the Maori culture.  Please do contact Mrs. Williams.

Fine Arts Celebration

This year’s Fine Arts Celebration will be Friday, November 9th.  We’re looking for students in grades 3-12 who would like to sing, dance, or play an instrument.  Pairs and groups are welcome.  Artwork may also be submitted to your art teacher.

Please see a music teacher for more information and a form to sign up for a performance Preview Day.  These forms are due Tuesday, September 11th.

2017-2018 Yearbook

If you did not get your 2017-2018 yearbook, there are more available. Parents of  ECC and elementary students need to tell their child’s classroom teacher if they need one, and books will be delivered to their classroom. Secondary students can come pick one up from Miss Vasquez’s classroom (A248).
Also, if your yearbook had some problems (repeated pages or pages falling out), please bring them in by Monday, September 3, and we will replace it for you.

From the TIS Health Clinic

Welcome to the new school year! This year Mrs. Christine Gilbert, RN, will be on campus Mondays and Wednesday mornings and will serve as our Head Nurse. Mr. Luke Jeon will be on campus at all other times. The campus clinic is open to students Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  It is located on the first floor hallway across from the locker rooms. We look forward to working together with you to build a strong and healthy community.

For all new students, and for returning students entering grades 5 and 9, TIS requires a physical examination performed by a physician, a parent-completed health history questionnaire, and a copy of your student’s immunization record. We request that you use the Student Medical Exam form provided through the TIS Admissions Office.

For all returning students, TIS requires that parents complete the Annual Health Update for their student(s) provided in PowerSchool.

We kindly request that all medical updates and forms be submitted no later than Friday, August 31st. For questions or support, please contact us at nurse@tiseagles.com
