English Preparatory Summer School 2018 – Hosted by TIS

TIS will be hosting an English Preparatory Summer School on July 5 – 26, 2018. Please see the brochures below for details.

If you have friends or relatives with children who would like to improve academic English, please pass the brochures along to them. For registration, please scan the QR code on the brochure.

 

Elementary Spring Musical – May 4

Annual Fun Run/BBQ Event

We are excited to hold the Annual Fun Run/BBQ event again this year on Wednesday, May 30th.  Please mark your calendars and make plans to come. This is an annual fundraiser for our Service Trip students who will be going to Chang Bai Shan and Yunnan this year.  

Tickets will be purchased for ECC and Elementary students out of their classrooms.  A letter will go home with ECC and Elementary students this Friday, May 4th. Mr. Strong will send an email to all secondary students explaining the way that they should purchase their tickets.

Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, May 30th:

  • 3:50 – ECC Run – 2 Laps around the track
  • 4:00 – 4:30 – 2K Race
  • 4:30 – 5:45 – Eat BBQ on half of the soccer Field
  • 4:30 – 5:30 – Water Stations on the other half of the Soccer Field
  • 5:00 – 6:00 – Climbing Wall Opened
  • 5:45 – 6:20 – Clean Up
  • 6:30 – Busses Leave

The deadline for purchasing tickets for ECC and Elementary students through their classroom is on Wednesday, May 16th.  The deadline for all secondary students and the greater school community to purchase tickets is Friday, May 18th.

 

Middle School Spring Play

On May 17th and 18th, travel back in time with us to the 1920s for a hilarious night of comedy and suspense at the Reef Mansion! Ten strangers have arrived on an isolated island off the coast of England. Each of them appears to have an invitation from Mr. Reef inviting them to a weekend party. But when they arrive the host is nowhere to be found, but he has left an ominous recording. As the mystery unfolds the guests quickly realized they may not survive the weekend! You won’t want to miss this exciting production!

The following class assemblies are coming up.  If you are a parent of a child in these classes, we warmly welcome you to come to the ECC to take part with your child. The assemblies will start at 8:30 a.m.

ECC Junk Modeling Day

We still need additional recyclable materials for our Junk Modeling Day on May 7. You may send in the items below on Monday morning.

  • Fabric scraps
  • Washed out plastic bottles and containers
  • Caps and lids
  • Food boxes
  • Beads, buttons
  • Any kinds of sparkly scraps you are no longer using
  • String, yarn, ribbon

 

No School – May 25

On May 25 there will be no school for ECC only so the teachers can write report cards.

Last Day of Super Saturday Soccer – May 5

Saturday, May 5th is our last day of Super Saturday Soccer. Thank you to all the coaches and students who participated in our spring season. We had a great time and look forward to next year.

 

Last Week of After School Clubs – May 7-11

Next week is our last week of clubs. We have had a great season of after school activities, and we look forward to a strong finish!

 

Recycle Drive – May 7-11

TReC 2018 will be taking place from May 7th-11th. TIS elementary students will participate in the recycled material drive. Students will be working to see how many recyclables they can bring to school between May 7th – 11th. Recycling items will be divided into the following categories:

ISCOT Track and Field – Saturday, May 12

Select third through fifth grade students will participate in the ISCOT Track and Field Day on Saturday, May 12th. This exciting event will be hosted by IST.

 

5th Grade Spring Trip – May 23-25

Our annual spring trip is quickly approaching, and we hope your child is excited for our trip to Ji Xian, China! Our travel dates are May 23-25, and we will be traveling by TIS bus to and from Ji Xian. For more information please see the letter from Mrs. Ward.

 

4th Grade Campout – May 25-26

Our annual campout is also quickly approaching. Fourth grade students will spend the night on campus participating in fun events. More information will be given from Ms. Rodriguez and Mr. Hoffman.

 

After School Clubs Celebration – Tuesday, May 29

You are invited to the After School Clubs Celebration on Tuesday, May 29th. The event will be in the auditorium starting at 1:45 p.m. We are looking forward to this opportunity to celebrate all that the students have learned in After School Clubs this year.

Spring Trip Update

As we continue to prepare for this year’s Spring Trips, please remember to check your child’s Visa/Passport expiration dates and contact the school with current documents. Middle School teachers will collect all passports/ID’s on May 18th but need updated numbers to purchase tickets for the children. Students who do not have current Visa/Passport documents are unable to go on Spring Trip.

 

AP Exams

AP Exams are beginning. I encourage students to get the rest that they need to be alert for the exam. Stay focused and do well.

Spring Trips

Transportation has been purchased for Spring Trips! Students have participated in grade level meetings to hear further information about the trip that is being designed for them. Spring Trips will take place beginning the week of May 20th. Please look for future information from trip leaders regarding further details.

 

Senior Presentations

Seniors presentations will be taking place the week of May 28th. We are looking forward to hearing their perspectives regarding their education. During this week, Seniors will present, attend presentations, and attend classes as necessary. Seniors that do not have at least an A- in their class are expected to attend class and take the final exam.

 

Graduation

Seniors will be graduating on June 7th. Preparations are being made for the banquet and ceremony. We are looking forward to this excellent time of celebration. Please note that parents of Seniors will be invited to an informational meeting soon.
