General Announcements

New Head of School

All parents are invited to join us in the choir room on Wednesday, February 20 at 10 a.m. to meet next school year’s head principal, Mr. Ryan Witt. Mr. Witt currently serves as our high school principal. He will be sharing his vision for TIS, as well as further introducing himself and his family to the parents. Following this introduction time, there will be two options for parents: Ms. Ham and a group of elementary teachers will share information and answer questions about Daily 5. Mr. Witt and Mr. Choi will share more about their recent visit to Korean universities. We will start in the choir room at 10 a.m., and then split the group into Elementary and Secondary at 11 a.m. with Elementary parents in the blue room and Secondary parents stay in the choir room. Lunch will be in the White room and be served at 11:30 a.m., with things ending in time for parents to take the 1 p.m. bus home if they so desire. We encourage you to come, enjoy coffee and lunch with friends, and meet Mr. Witt!

TIS Entry Identification System

On Tuesday, February 19, we will be piloting a new school entry identification system at TIS. We will begin the pilot at 8:30 a.m., after the school day officially begins, and continue it through 3:30 p.m. Each visitor to the school during that time will go through a registration process at the school gate and received a printed badge for the day. The purpose of the new system is to enhance building security and help us keep an accurate record of who is in the building at all times. We expect to completely roll out the new process later in the spring. Thanks for your patience with this process.

TIS Has Talent

TIS Has Talent Benefit Concert, an annual event will be held on 28th March, in the Auditorium at 3:30pm. This is a fund-raising Event and there is a 10RMB Admissions Fee which goes towards helping to support our sister school in Cambodia. This School has been successfully taking children out of a life of human-trafficking, and giving them an education together with meals, clothing, etc., in fact all the basics that we all give our own children.

Please do come and support TIS Has Talent Benefit Concert, either through a performance or being part of the audience. Not only is this a worthwhile Cause, but also very entertaining. We really do have “TIS Has Talent!!”
