Travel Advice and Protocols

Mar. 4

Due to the recent domestic COVID-19 situation, the Tianjin Municipal Education Committee and the Municipal Education Working Committee are addressing school regulations and protocols. Please take the time to read through the guidelines and protocols below.

  • DO NOT leave Tianjin, if not necessary. If you need to leave Tianjin, you must report your destination and return date to the school. Please connect with one of our liaisons with this information.
  • If you are travelling, please ensure you:
    • carry sufficient protective supplies during the journey
    • pay close attention to personal hygiene
    • maintain social distancing, and
    • actively cooperate with health monitoring staff working in public transportation areas and epidemic prevention management.
  • DO NOT go to medium to high-risk areas. Those returning to Tianjin from counties, cities, and districts that are medium or high-risk areas will need home quarantine for 14 days. A COVID test with a negative test result will be required after the quarantine period and before a return to campus is permitted.
  • According to the requirements of the Municipal Prevention and Control Bureau, persons returning to Tianjin from low-risk areas must obtain a negative COVID test within 48 hours of their return. Only when a negative COVID test is obtained will a return to campus be permitted.
  • Due to the uncertainty of the current COVID-19 situation, those who will travel should be prepared for home quarantine.
  • Anyone who has been to infected areas identified by the Municipal Prevention and Control Bureau, has residence history in those areas, or has a connection with infected person/s shall follow the guidelines and protocols set in accordance by local authorities of Tianjin.
  • If you have left and returned to Tianjin, a 14-day body temperature record should be logged and reported to the school.

If you have any questions, please contact the school.

ECC Supply Drop

Apr. 15

Dear Parents,

If off-campus learning continues next week, we will be delivering another pack of supplies for students on Monday. After last time’s drop-off, we’ll be making a couple of changes this time around.

The first change is that we will only go to 4 locations so that we can spend more time at each spot and have some time to talk with the students. We will have two different teams of teachers going to the four locations. Locations are still being confirmed and will be sent out through the “TIS Notices 2021-2022” WeChat group.

The second change will be that students in 3rd through 5th grade may reserve library books as they have learned how to put a hold on a book. If this works well and future drop-offs are needed, we will allow book selection to the next age group. For 1st grade, 2nd grade, Dogwood, Cherry, and Maple classes we will bring bags of library books like we did last time.

If you are not able to make it to any of the drop-off points on Monday afternoon you may call Miss Wu at ex. 370 on Tuesday morning and set up a time to pick it up at the school gate.

Warmly,

ECC Team

Euclid Math Competition

Apr. 15

Congratulations to all those students who took part in the Euclid Math Competition over the holiday. We look forward to seeing how you all did!

AP Test

Apr. 15

AP assessments start in two weeks. Please encourage your child, they are so much more valuable than a test score. Also encourage them to sleep well. Many students attempt to stay up late, wake up early, and in doing so reduce their ability to store information into long-term memory and, as shown by several studies, reduce overall testing performance.
