Thank you for coming in for the Parent Visits. It was great to see ECC parents back in the ECC. Later this year, we will have another couple of days like this, so if you did not see a class you wanted to see, there would be other opportunities at another time.

Parent-teacher Conferences


Oct. 15

Next week, we will have parent-teacher conferences. During the first quarter, all parents are asked to come in for parent conferences to meet with their child’s teacher. If you cannot make your scheduled time, please get in touch with Miss Wu at ext. 370. Please understand that teachers are meeting with many parents, so please respect the scheduled conference time.

Clubs

Clubs begin the week of October 18th. If you have any questions about clubs, please contact Miss Barsalou at DaniBeth.barsalou@tiseagles.com. We are looking forward to a great club season.

ISCOT Soccer


Oct. 15

If your child signed up for ISCOT soccer and would like to come and watch, please fill out IST’s declaration form. This form is for parents and not for the students. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Miss Wu at ext. 370.

MS

Early Dismissal


Oct. 15

Middle school early dismissal is on October 21 for student led conferences. Students will eat lunch and be dismissed at 11:35 for a 11:45 bus home.

Parent Visit Days

The Secondary Parent Visit Days are October 19th and 20th. Please see the informational email about the day. We hope to see many parents come for a visit to observe classes and interact with students. Students have been given a paper to fill out their schedules to help parents navigate the school day and classes.

TIANMUN


Oct. 15

Starting at 4pm on October 21, the annual Tianjin Model United Nations conference will begin. Students involved in MUN will attend, representing global nations working together to solve the world’s problems! The event is on Thursday evening, all day Friday and ends Saturday after lunch.

Middle school MUN students may chose to stay on campus Thursday afternoon.

Student Led Conferences


Oct. 15

Student Led Conferences are October 21 and 22. Students have been preparing portfolio’s to show their growth so far this year and look forward to leading their advisory teachers and parents in the meeting. The school has called all families about the schedule. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact the secondary secretary. Please check your email for more information about student led conference philosophy and learning benefits.

Annual House Soccer Tournament

The annual House Soccer Tournament will start Monday, October 18 with games on the 18th, 25th, and November 1st.

Artificial Intelligence Webinar


Oct. 15

Students interested in attending a free online seminar about Artificial intelligence should contact Ms. Zhang, the Robotics Teacher or Mr. Fresh, the Computer Science Teacher for details.

TIANMUN


Oct. 15

Tianjin Model United Nations will be held on campus starting 4pm Thursday, October 21, all day Friday, and Saturday morning until early afternoon. Students may be excused to join their parents for conferences as scheduled.

Teacher Conferences


Oct. 15

High school parent and teacher conferences will be from 8:15 until 4:00pm on Friday, October 22. Parents wishing to schedule a meeting with teachers may contact the teacher directly or the secondary secretary. Teachers seeking a conference will be in contact with parents directly. No translation is available on the day. It is encouraged for those parents needing translation support to have your children accompany you.

Spirit Week

This week’s “Spirit Week” dress-up days were a success. It was great to see so many students taking part. We are proud of our creative and enthusiastic high schoolers!

Athletics

ISAC Volleyball Tournaments


Oct. 15

This Saturday, October 16 our HS volleyball teams are headed to Beijing to take part in the ISAC Volleyball tournaments. Bus times and announcements are shared in team wechat pages with parents. Players should pack snacks, and something to eat for the ride home as the bus won’t return until after 5:00 p.m. Lunch should be available for purchase at the location.

HS Volleyball


Oct. 15

Next week, Wednesday, October 20, the teams will play vs. the teachers. After the game, players who have turned in a permission form, will have a team dinner at Black Cow in the AoCheng area.

MS Soccer


Oct. 15

We have one more practice this coming Tuesday. Saturday, Oct 23 is our ISAC tournament. Boys will be at IST and Girls at Wellington.

Season 2 Sign-ups


Oct. 15

Season 2 sign-ups will be emailed to students this coming week. High School students can sign-up for Basketball try-outs starting November 3. Middle School students can sign-up for volleyball.
