General Announcements

Greetings from TIS Health Office

As a reminder, the Health Office does not supply medications such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Benedryl and Tums. This is in accordance with Chinese law and in abidance with Chinese nurse licensing.

For the safety of our school, please remember that students are not allowed to carry their own medicines in school or on trips. Exceptions are made only for students requiring emergency medications for conditions such as diabetes, asthma or severe allergy, but will still need parental permission in writing with clear instructions for administering it.

If you would like your student to receive any medications while at school, please send a small amount of medication in the original container clearly labelled with your child’s name in English to the Health Office along with a signed Medication Administration Permission form which can be found at the school website or at this link, Medication Administration Permission
A hard copy may also picked up at the Health Office.

Basic medications will be provided on overnight or long-distance trips if parental permission has been given in PowerSchool’s Annual Update. The Medication Administration Permission form is also used for sending any medication needed for your student while on these trips.

Thank you for allowing our Health Office to care for your children. Please contact either myself or Mr. Jeon, if you have any questions.

Picture Day - Thursday & Friday, Sept. 5-6

Picture Day will be Thursday and Friday, September 5th and 6th. ECC, Elementary, and Middle School students will have pictures taken on Thursday. High School students will have pictures taken on Friday. Please send your child to school dressed for pictures.

International Day - Friday, Oct. 18

Please mark your calendar for our Annual International Celebration to focus on our cultural diversity here within our TIS Community.

As always we welcome dances, songs and instrumental pieces from around the world AND from every family member - this means you, parents!

Last year several of the dads did a Haka dance, while moms danced gracefully across our stage. Both performances were a welcomed addition to the International Day Program and the audience loved the fact that the parents were involved too.

So, if you are a singer, dancer, musician, know martial arts or any other form of cultural entertainment which highlights your country, and its culture, please do contact
