Check out these top pieces from our Elementary Art Contest

Creativity is highly encouraged among our students, from the youngest members in our Foundations Class to the oldest in our High School Senior class. We’ve seen how creativity promotes deep consideration and intuition, and increases students’ drawing and painting skills through experience. Recently, our Elementary students were invited to participate in an Elementary Art Contest, and the winning pieces were hung in the office of our ECC & Elementary Principal, Miss Dani Beth Barsalou. “Four years ago, when I moved offices, I needed to decorate the walls, so I started this contest. So, this January, I thought it was time to update the pictures in my office,” she says.

Receiving many wonderful paintings and drawings, seven judges chose their five favorite pieces. “There were so many wonderful pictures submitted, and the ones chosen are a variety of things. Some of the pictures include TIS; others don’t. The variety and time going into the pictures are some of my favorite parts of the different pictures.”

Tianjin International School (TIS) had wonderful submissions for the Elementary Art Contest.

From our first grade, we received pieces from Adolyn Jane W. and Sofia D. Adolyn Jane made a colorful image with decorated hands, and Sofia painted a roadway with trees progressing into the distance. Second-grade student Stefaniia D. made a sweet picture of her standing with Miss Barsalou. Our third-grade students, Miya V. and Sarah L., made wonderful landscape images. Ana G. from our fourth grade represented China well with a drawing of a panda. Jiu P., also from our fourth grade, drew a beautiful flower. Finally, three pieces were from our fifth-grade students: Ada W., Carrie W., and Skyla C. Ada showed flowers so realistic that we could almost smell them! Carrie recreated a spot-on image of our school. Skyla showed how the LifePlus Nine Qualities for Life are the roots of everything we learn at our school.

Well done, students! We love seeing your passion and talents for art. We hope your interest in it continues to grow. Thank you to everyone who participated! It was a delight to see the imagination and creativity that flourishes in our school.
