Strengthening connections with ECC Home Visits

Home visits are a unique part of our Early Childhood Center. They are a nontraditional method of strengthening connections between families and the school. We recently interviewed one of our ECC parents to provide insight into the experience.

How would you describe ECC home visits to a new parent?

ECC home visits are a fantastic initiative! They allow teachers to connect with children in their own space, making them feel seen and valued. This personalized approach helps build a strong relationship between the school, the teacher, and our family.

How did your child like welcoming his teachers into your home? What did he share with his teachers?

My child was thrilled to have his teachers visit! He felt excited to show them his favorite toys and even his artwork. He also had a great time playing with his teachers and had lots of fun.

How do you think ECC Home Visits have connected you more to your child's teacher and the school?

The home visits have allowed us to have open conversations with the teachers in a relaxed setting. It made us feel more connected and supported by the school and has given us a better sense of how the teachers understand and care for our child.

How do you think its' given you a greater perspective of your child's education and school life?

The home visit provided insight into how my child is perceived by his teachers and the progress he's making. It was reassuring to see how attentive and invested they are in his growth, which deepened our trust in the school's approach to early childhood education.

What did you most appreciate about ECC Home visits?

I most appreciated the teachers' personal attention and understanding. They seemed to really want to know my child beyond the classroom, and that effort has strengthened our relationship with the school.

In what way do you think our teachers have a greater understanding of your child and are able to provide him support within the classroom?

The teachers have shown a keen understanding of my child's strengths and areas where he needs encouragement. They incorporate activities that challenge him while also supporting his individual needs. This personalized approach has helped him feel confident and motivated to participate in class.

Is there anything further you would like to add?

Yes, the home visits and other activities for us have truly set TIS apart in the way they build a strong bridge between the school and home, making us feel like valued partners in my child's learning journey.
