China day is nearly here! On Friday, Feb. 5, we'll have a day of performances, cultural activities and Chinese cuisine. All these things will be part of this very special day as we celebrate the beauty of the Chinese culture. China Day is meant to enhance what our students have learned this past year in their Chinese classes. The celebration will take place during normal school hours and parents are invited to attend.
We are looking for performances (singers, dancers, muscians, etc.) from both students and parents. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Williams, dwilliams@tiseagles.com.
More information will be provided in the coming weeks. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on China Day!

Child Safety and Protection at Tianjin International School
Jan. 8
Here at Tianjin International School we are committed to safeguarding children from harm. We work to provide an environment where students are safe from all forms of abuse and seek to be a safe place for students to get help if they experience harm.
We seek to do this through; safe recruitment practices, regular training in Child Safety for all our staff and volunteers, Child Safety Policies and by having 2 staff who take the role of Child Safety Specialists. These staff undertake extra training to be able to respond to any Child Safety concerns raised.
So we wanted to take a moment to introduce you to your Child Safety Specialists:
Lee Williams – Elementary Teacher – lee.williams@tiseagles.com
Emmy Chen – Music Teacher – emmy.chen@tiseagles.com
If you have a question regarding our Child Safety policies or if you are concerned that a child may be experiencing harm please contact either of these staff, they are here to help.
You can see more details about this topic and view our Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct on the updated Child Safety Page of our school Website https://www.tiseagles.com/en/community/child-safety-and-protection. We will be adding Child Safety resources, for you and your family, to this page in the months ahead - look out for updates coming soon.

Lost & Found
Jan. 8
There are several items of clothing, as well as a few water bottles in Lost & Found, located just outside the gym. If your student has lost anything, please ask him/her to have a look there first. Items will be given to a charitable cause, if they are not claimed by the end of this month.
To help with the prompt return of lost property, please have your student’s items labelled with both their name and grade.
Staying Safe
Nov. 20
As there continues to be reports of positive COVID-19 cases around Tianjin, we recommend keeping you and your family safe by avoiding areas which have been classified as medium to high risk. We also recommend that you regularly monitor your Tianjin Health Code to ensure your code is green.
These cases are a reminder for us to continue being diligent with our COVID-19 protocols on and off campus. Please remember for more information about the school's COVID-19 response refer to our COVID-19 Response and Resources webpage. At this time, we want to remind everyone that a green Tianjin Health Code needs to be presented before entry onto campus.

During this cold and flu season, please be reminded that hand hygiene and wearing a mask are the BEST ways to prevent the spread of germs. Frequently, wash your hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds. Avoid going to places with high volumes of people and wear a mask when you head out. It is also important that you keep your immunity system in order by having regular rest breaks, nutritious, regular meals and enough sleep each night.
Some of the symptoms of flu and COVID-19 are similar, making it hard to tell the difference between them based on symptoms alone. Flu viruses can cause mild to severe illness, including common signs and symptoms listed below. COVID-19 seems to cause more serious illnesses in some people. Other signs and symptoms of COVID-19, which are different from flu, include a change in or loss of taste or smell. Diagnostic testing can help determine if you are sick with the flu or COVID-19.
