Hear from the Head
TIS Family,
May can sometimes be one of the busiest times of the year for a school. Everyone is moving about in a hurry to complete those final tasks before the final bell on June 10th. Whether it is an annual activity, a farewell party, an important meeting, or a friend get-together, it is really easy to miss things in a fast-paced end of the school year. In moments like this, I always remember to stop to smell the roses. Every day I pass by the beautiful roses near our front gate, and I take the time to stop and smell the roses. The beautiful roses serve as a daily reminder to me, in the midst of a busy season, that I need to take time for the beautiful things around me and appreciate the beauty within all those activities, parties, meetings, and farewells, and I encourage you to do the same.
Cognia
The Cognia Engagement Review Team’s visit to LifePlus schools has officially concluded. We went into this week with great confidence in the LifePlus education our children receive each and every day of school. At the end of the TIS review, we were overjoyed to hear the kind and wonderful comments the Review Team shared about our community. Thank you all for continuing to make this school a place we are all proud to raise our children.
AP Exams
AP testing is officially halfway through. Every year, around 250 exams are taken within our school across the two weeks. For everyone taking exams, keep up the hard work, and don’t forget we are all here to support you.
SCIPMYLO
Once again, we will have a school-wide SCIPMYLO event in two weeks. SCIPMYLO is one way TIS prioritizes holistic education. Through this event, students of all ages are working together and investing in one another in these activities, and through this quality relational time. Cross-generational relational time is a fantastic way for student development to take place at all levels.
Mother's Day
In the United States, Sunday, May 10th is Mother’s Day. A special thank-you to all the moms in our lives. We hope you know you are appreciated every day of the year, and that whenever Mother’s Day is for you, you are especially treasured.
