A Season of Growth, Grit, and Championships

Tianjin International School’s High School Basketball Teams have been preparing all season for the coveted LifePlus High School Basketball Tournament, the culminating event of the 2025-2026 season.

Boys' Basketball

Our boys' team entered the season united around ambitious goals, including becoming the LifePlus Tournament Champions. Under the leadership of Head Coach Mr. McTaggart and Assistant Coach Mr. Carman, the team embraced an up-tempo offensive style that capitalized on speed and athleticism. This approach created frequent scoring opportunities, generated uncontested points, and forced opposing defenses to collapse under pressure.

Our boys' team secured an undefeated regular season and carried their momentum into the ISCOT Championship, where they were victorious in earning the tournament championship.

Last weekend, the Eagles set their sights on the LifePlus Tournament. In the initial round-robin play, the boys' team earned a #1 seed in the Championship Bracket. Our Eagles battled through the bracket and faced off against the #2 seed ISQ Dolphins for the title. The Dolphins and Eagles battled through four competitive quarters, and in the end, our TIS Eagles were victorious and once again raised the Championship Trophy.

Girls' Basketball

Our girls' team's journey to the LifePlus Tournament followed a different, but equally inspiring path. Head Coach Miss Kim and Assistant Coach Miss Riordan guided a developing roster through the integration of new players while emphasizing teamwork, communication, and cohesion. Throughout the regular season, the team focused on refining position groups, testing lineup combinations, and building confidence as a unified team.

Our Eagles competed in the ISCOT Tournament. Where local international schools from Tianjin met on the hardwood to see who would be the 2025-2026 Champion. Each game tested the team's resilience, as the Eagles were repeatedly forced to overcome scoring deficits and mount comeback victories. Their persistence and composure ultimately led to an undefeated tournament run and the ISCOT Championship. The girls proudly returned the traveling trophy to the halls of Tianjin International School, where it will remain until the opportunity to defend it next year.

The lessons learned throughout the season prepared the team for the LifePlus Tournament. Our girls' team battled through the round-robin games, went undefeated, established themselves as the #1 seed in the Championship Bracket, and faced the #2 seed, the ISQ Dolphins, for the Championship.

When the final whistle blew, the Tianjin International School girls' team accomplished what they set out to achieve. They raised the Girls' LifePlus Basketball Championship Trophy into the air and improved upon last year’s second-place finish.
