ECC & Elementary

Dear Parents,

Today is an exciting day in the Elementary! We're thrilled to attend ISCOT soccer and host the Fine Arts Celebration, which will allow our students to showcase their incredible talents in the fine arts. We warmly invite you to come out and support our amazing students as they share their skills.

Looking ahead, in just two weeks, we’ll have our Principals' Coffee, and we have some fun changes in store! At both the ECC and Elementary levels, we’ll discuss the importance of literacy and reading in a child’s life. We’d love for you to join us and discover why reading and literacy play such vital roles in your child’s development.

As we move into winter, we have a lot of fun and exciting events. Please watch your child’s newsletter for more information regarding these fun activities.

Warmly,

Miss Barsalou

Secondary

Dear Parents,

I hope you are enjoying the Fall weather as much as I am. It’s hard to beat a warm cup of tea while looking at the beautiful way the trees change color. Another one of our Fall traditions is the annual Fine Arts Celebration. This is an evening where students from 3rd-12th grade get to showcase some of their hidden talents. Tonight, we will see a ballet, hear ballads, and see a great finale performance. Come support our students and check out the celebration from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., starting in the choir room and ending in the auditorium. See you there!

Season 2 of sports is also underway. Volleyball for Middle School and basketball for High School. Both boys and girls have tryouts this week. It’s been great to see so many students participating this year. Our coaches are also phenomenal in balancing teaching both sport and life skills through athletics. I look forward to seeing games played both here and away!

I also look forward to seeing you at Principals' Coffee in two weeks on Wednesday, November 27th. This time, we will have a different format and get to hear about Secondary education and answer all of your AP questions.

Then, a few days later, make sure you mark your calendars for the Secondary Christmas Concert on Friday, November 29th. This event is one of my favorite events all year. It is the culmination of so much dedication and hard work from our Fine Arts department and students from the entire first semester. It is breathtaking to witness a live performance from both our band and choir. We were made to create and appreciate beauty, and such an experience always nourishes my soul. Not only will the night be enchanting, but the music is the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season. I will see you there with sleighbells ringing!

Regards,

Mr. Way

Health Office

The winter is coming, and the following period is the most susceptible time to catch a cold. At this time, we need to pay attention to personal hygiene and keep warm to prevent infectious diseases. Because infectious diseases are widely spreading in the city currently, especially among lower-grade students, it would be easy to catch them and should be paid attention to. Please help us to maintain a safe and healthy environment at school by not sending your child to school if they are ill, have a cough or runny nose that cannot be independently controlled inside a classroom, fever at or above 37.7˚C (100˚F), rash related with illness (hand-foot-mouth disease, chicken pox, measles, roseola, etc.), or have vomited or had diarrhea (three or more watery stools in a day) from sickness in the past 24 hours. Even if your children get a lower fever (below 37.7˚C), with any feeling unwell, it’s the best way to let them rest sufficiently at home until full recovery. Your child must be fever-free for 24 hours without any fever-reducing medication to return to school.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep TIS a healthy and safe environment.
