School Wide Announcements
School Schedule Change
Throughout the past month, we have closely monitored the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization meetings scheduled for this upcoming Sunday, August 31st, and Monday, September 1st, to determine their impact on our daily school operations. The traffic control zone for the meetings lasts through 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2nd, and conflicts with our school's location. This makes it impossible for our school operations to take place. As a result, our school will be closed on Monday, September 1st, and Tuesday, September 2nd.
To make up for the lost time, teachers will assign extra practice for students to complete, and we are adjusting our Student-led Conferences from Thursday, October 30th, and Friday, October 31st, to Friday, October 31st, and Saturday, November 1st, to gain an additional school day before the semester's end. Please keep an eye out for further details, which our Divisional Principals will send in the coming weeks.
Principals' Coffee - September 10
Our first Principals' Coffee of the year is Wednesday, September 10. Join our Principals who will share about our House system and enjoy some delicious coffee and treats following the presentation. This is an excellent way to stay up to date on how our school is encouraging community and friendships among our students.

Add/Drop Deadline
The add/drop deadline has now passed. This means that if a student wishes to exit a class, they must receive both student and parent permission. The course will then appear on the transcript with a “W” (Withdraw).
A “W” indicates that the student started a course but did not complete it. It does not affect GPA, but universities will be able to see it on the transcript.
Upcoming SAT Dates:
- September 13
- November 8
- December 6

AP Self-Study Sign Up
An email has been sent to all students and parents regarding AP Self-Study Sign Up. Please review this email with your student and complete all action steps before the deadline of November 14th.
AP self-study means the student will take an AP exam, but there is no class at school for that subject. Your child must study alone, find their own books and materials, and prepare outside of class time.
TIS will help with registering for the exam and allow for students to test during the May AP exam dates but not with teaching the content.
University Representative Visit
On September 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., a representative from the University of Calgary (Canada) will be on campus to talk about their admissions process and opportunities to study in Canada. We invite all interested students and parents to attend.
- The University of Calgary is consistently ranked among the top 10 universities in Canada and within the top 200 universities worldwide.
- 'U of C' is known as one of Canada’s leading research universities, with strengths in energy, engineering, health, and sustainability.
