TIS Family,

How do you evidence thankfulness in your life? Many cultures around the world have a time on the calendar dedicated to remembering to be thankful. For the United States, this is always the fourth Thursday of November. Don’t worry, when Americans think about it, the scheduling is less about Thanksgiving and more about consumerism. I wonder, though, how often do people exemplify a true spirit of thankfulness, or are we also consumers of other people’s thankfulness? Thankfulness is more than saying 'thank you,' because saying 'thank you' is just polite. Thankfulness is more than something we do because the calendar tells us that it is time to be thankful. Thankfulness is so much more. So, are you a thankful person? Am I a thankful person? However you answer that question, I’m confident it is an area we can all grow. If you are curious to know more about what I mean, let me know. I’d be happy to chat.

Fine Arts Celebration (Tonight)

Do you appreciate the arts? Do you enjoy seeing TIS students display their dedication to hard work and giftings? If so, join us at the school tonight as our students display their artwork or take the stage and treat your senses to something special. The Fine Arts Celebration never fails to disappoint, so get an early dinner and join the celebration tonight!

Talented Student Month

Along with the Fine Arts Celebration, what are some other ways students display their talents? This month continues with the hardworking MUN team hosting TIANMUN, followed by the drama department performing Treasure Island, and then culminating with the High School Science Fair. We have a wide variety of dedicated students working diligently right now to show all of us the fruit of their learning, so let’s all support them.

Curiosity

I have intentionally filled this month’s Hear from the Head with several questions. From one thoughtful person to another, commit yourself to continuing to be a learner, and never stop being curious. Let your curiosity grow so you will always be a lifelong learner.

Science Fair

Treasure Island Play Tickets Now Available

Another exciting production from our drama department is coming up on Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22.

Ken Ludwig’s adaptation of Treasure Island, directed by Rachel Way, promises adventure, mystery, and unforgettable performances. Be sure to purchase your tickets for one or both performances as we fill the auditorium to celebrate the creativity, dedication, and hard work our students and staff have poured into this production.

Pepero Day

Pepero Day will take place on Tuesday, November 11. This year, preorders for Pepero will be taken, starting Monday, November 3. Students, if you’d like to place an order for Pepero before November 11, please go to the StuCo store for purchasing.
