Dear Parents,
I hope your family had a restful and refreshing break. As we begin this new semester, I wanted to share how thankful I am to be part of such a wonderful school community and how excited we are for the months ahead.
There has already been so much to celebrate! Our 1st through 5th graders recently participated in an art contest to decorate my office, and their creativity truly brightened my days. Sixth-grade students have taken an exciting step forward by moving to the Secondary schedule, and our ECC students are counting down to the joy of celebrating the 100th day of school very soon.
We are also delighted to welcome several new students into our ECC and Elementary community. In addition, MAP testing has begun for our Kindergarten through 10th grade students as part of how we monitor growth and learning. This is also a great way for Elementary students to see how they are doing in meeting the goals they set for themselves at the start of the year.
We are truly looking forward to a wonderful semester filled with growth, learning, and joyful moments together.
Warmly,
Miss Barsalou

Dear Parents,
We’ve had a great start to the year! January is an especially exiting month as we have several STEM competitions. Two High School teams are currently presenting at the National Sichuan Science Fair. Both teams had intriguing projects and are competing against international schools from all over the country. It takes months of hard work, planning, experimenting, failing, and analyzing. These projects help students prepare for college by doing the practical works of Science in High School. We are so proud of all our students who participated in the Science Fair this year. I can’t wait to see what projects are done next year!
Last weekend, our Middle School Robotics teams also competed in our LifePlus tournament in Wuhan. These competitions are a great display of engineering, coding, and teamwork. Each team designs, builds, drives, fixes, and improves their robot. Each match involves a playing field, and certain tasks need to be accomplished. This kind of hands-on STEM practice is invaluable. All of our teams had great robots and competed well. We were fortunate to have one team, 1986T, qualify for the National Competition in Shanghai in a few weeks. Our High School teams will be traveling next week to Yantai, and we will see who will qualify to travel to Shanghai as well. Thank you to all our chaperones and Robotics teacher, Mrs. Mesfin, and thank you, STEM Department!
Sincerely,
Mr. Way

Proceeds from Christmas Bazaar

We are incredibly grateful for the support our 2025 Christmas Bazaar received from parents, students, alumni, vendors, sponsors, and the greater Tianjin community. The Christmas Bazaar is a special event where our community comes together for an exciting day that ultimately culminates in charitable giving.
This year, a total of 22,945 RMB was donated to 天津市桐枔儿童康健中心 (Tianjin Tongxin Children’s Health Care Center), an organization specializing in the care and rehabilitation training of children with autism.
In addition, our 3rd grade class raised 4,513 RMB through their “squishy” ball fundraiser to support student refugees living in Egypt. These funds will be used to purchase backpacks and school supplies, helping to support students’ education while they are displaced.
These efforts truly speak to the heart of our community, and we are sincerely thankful for each and every one of you who contributed to making this event a success.
