Dear Parents,
As we enjoy the signs of Spring, such as buds on the trees and warmer daytime weather, it reminds me that there is still so much for our students to learn. We are in the middle of our reading month for the ECC and Elementary divisions. The library is decorated like scenes from an old classic book, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Students have had a great time being transported into the story during library visits each week. If you're on campus, please stop by and check it out. Next week, the Chinese classes will also start their reading month challenge in Chinese, so if your child is in Chinese class, look out for a letter coming home soon.
Our Spring Student-Led Conferences this year are scheduled right after Spring Break. These are important opportunities for parents, teachers, and students to collaborate and support students in reaching their goals. We look forward to the chance of meeting and partnering in your child’s education.
Warmly,
Miss Barsalou
Secondary
Secondary Parents,
I hope you’ve had a great week. I love the warmer weather and the spots of color that are beginning to appear around the city. Being surrounded by the budding beauty reminds me of the incredible beauty that is our annual Fine Arts Festival. Next Friday, we will host this event which showcases the talent of TIS and LifePlus. Students from our schools audition to attend, and only the top students are selected. Then, students have an opportunity to work with a guest director / conductor and perform on Saturday night. This will be an unforgettable night. You will have a chance to get to see both a band and choir concert, a theatre production, and examine a visual art gallery. The show starts at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are already on sale. I hope to see you there!
Also, next week, our Korean College Counselor, Ms. Jackie Lee will be on campus. She will be meeting with each grade level as well as individual students and parents throughout the week. For many years, Ms. Lee has helped our students navigate the ever-changing application processes for Korean universities. As part of this updating process, she will also host a presentation from Sogang University on March 17 (Thursday), 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the choir room. If you want to hear more from this university, we will see you there!
I hope you have a great week!
Sincerely,
Mr. Way
