Partnering with the Hexi District Education Bureau

Our school has had the honor of hosting the Hexi District Teacher Training. This year’s theme was “Unbounded Intelligence, Empowering the Future of Education.” This was seen through the explanations and encouragement of using technology and AI-powered tools within the classroom.

The event kicked off with the Opening Ceremony, inviting leaders from the Hexi District Education Bureau, LifePlus, and our school to deliver speeches and take part in a forum, discussing the imperative task of equipping teachers and students with greater knowledge and understanding in the ever-growing world of technology and AI. Also joining the stage were local student performers who, through dance and drama, represented the benefits of adopting smart education.

Within our halls, we welcomed schools that have leveraged the latest learning resources. They demonstrated and shared how they’ve adapted them to their classrooms and how other schools in the Hexi district can do the same.

Throughout the remainder of the week, our school hosted Elementary and Secondary teachers, providing seminars to share ideas on how they can utilize technology and AI to make their work more efficient. Our ECC & Elementary Principal, Miss Dani Beth Barsalou, shared tips with teachers on how they can make phonics more engaging. Our Principal of Teaching and Learning, Mr. Emmanuel Sarsalejo, provided practical tools to use and opportunities to discuss how AI can be used in classrooms, even with limited technology.

Our Secondary Science Teacher, Mr. John Lundy, and our Science Teacher, Miss Phoebe Pang, discussed and showed examples of technology in the classroom. Our Elementary Teacher, Mrs. Zugelis Brito, took teachers through exercises to integrate technology for strengthening vocabulary and learning skills. Also supporting our observing teachers was our Instructional Coach, Dr. Andy Platt, who led them through multiple sessions and supported our seminar leaders.

Thank you to the Hexi District Education Bureau for your diligent work in organizing this event to ensure teachers remain up to date with the tools and technology they can use in the classroom.
