The best moments from our Secondary Concerts

We had our Secondary Band and Choir Spring Concerts one after the other this year. Band kicked off the performances from our 6th-12th-grade students on Wednesday, May 20, and on Thursday, May 21, Choir finished off our busy week of three concerts.

Secondary Band Spring Concert

Led by Kitty W. and JiaQing G., our Jazz Band Club started our Band concert with the upbeat selection “Pick Up the Pieces.” The 6th Grade Beginning Band followed and showed how far they’ve come in this first year of learning their instruments. They, our 7th & 8th Grade Advanced Band, and our High School Concert Band each featured iconic pieces from some of our favorite movies – Star Wars, Jurassic Park, How to Train Your Dragon, Harry Potter, James Bond, and Zootopia. It was an evening of fun and featured solos from ChenXi Z., ChongYi Z., JinSeo Y., LaiYin T., JooAn C., and GuoYao S.

Thank you to our Band Director, Mrs. Emmy Chen, who has led our students all year and helped them to progress abundantly.

Secondary Choir Spring Concert

Our final concert of the 2025-2026 school year ended all performances on a high note. Each song displayed hope and messages of peace that have come from artists around the world and at different periods of struggle and sorrow. From our 6th Grade Choir, one of their most memorable selections was the jazzy “It Don’t Mean a Thing.” Our 7th and 8th Grade Choir was challenged with three songs, including “Hebu! Mandari (Come Now, Dance!),” which incorporated Swahili text. During this song, we also had the support of ChaeYeon B., SoYul K., and MyeongGi S. on percussion. Our High School Choir also took on the challenge of a foreign language piece, singing in Māori, and we had solos from Gloria D., Craig P., and Ziping W., as well as Mr. Jonathan Barta on the djembe and Miss Melody Pan on the shaker. To finish out the night, all choirs sang, “Let There Be Peace on Earth,” with solos from Lucas C., SoYul K., DaHyun L., Xuan-Er L., and ChaeWon S.

Thank you to our Choir Director, Mrs. Erin Jin! You have made a deep impact on the many lives of your students.
