Senior Highlights Part 2

This year, we have fourteen amazing seniors on the road to graduation. Each student has taken on different roles in our school, whether through Model United Nations, drama, Science Fair, or in other clubs or events. Already, our students have been seeking to use their skills to lead others and make an impact in the community. We are sure they’ll go on to do amazing things.

Since joining our school in 8th Grade, BoKyeong K. has consistently demonstrated excellence and persistence in all that she’s done. She’s taken part in a diverse number of extracurriculars, from Freshman Class President to Makeup Leader for Drama in her Senior year. She’s taken on various roles at Model United Nations (MUN) Conferences, served as a House leader, and more. This display of hard work only increased in her classes. Along with AP Computer Science A, AP World History, and AP Calculus BC, she’s taken six other AP courses and six Honors Classes. BoKyeong shares that, during her time at our school, one of her favorite memories has been the year-end banquet. “Getting ready with the girls – choosing dresses, doing makeup, and celebrating the end of finals together – made the night feel even more special. Dancing, taking photos, and enjoying the moment all dressed up felt like a unique experience of international school life, and it’s something I’ll always remember.” As BoKyeong considers universities in Korea where she’ll pursue a major in Language Literature, she is also excited to spend a bit more time in China and make memories with her friends.

In his six years with us, RyeoHun K. has made a lasting impact both at our school and beyond it. He has thrived in extracurriculars, whether at MUN Conferences, acting as Class Representative, performing at the Fine Arts Festival and Band Concerts, or presenting at Science Fair. He’s taken a number of AP and Honors classes, including AP Economics, AP Calculus BC, AP Biology, Honors Chemistry, Honors Ancient World History, Honors Band, and more. In his time here, RyeoHun shares that his favorite memories have come from Spring Trips and Service Trips. During both, he’s worked closely with peers and teachers, serving others in the area. RyeoHun is applying to universities throughout Asia, including the National University of Singapore, and is considering a major in either Philosophy or Economics.

YeSo K. has one of the longest attendance records amongst our Senior Class. She first joined us in our ECC Foundations Class. Though at another school for her 4th and 5th grades, she returned in 6th grade and has remained ever since. YeSo is renowned in our community and around the world for her artwork, which has been featured in New York City’s Times Square, Italy’s Palazzo dei Trecento, and in the Louvre. While she thrives in artwork, she has excelled in other areas of her education as well. Not only has she taken AP 2D Art, AP Drawing, and AP Art History, but she’s also taken AP Language and Composition, AP Chinese, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, Honors English, and Honors Chemistry. Amongst her extracurriculars, she has been part of the soccer team, the MUN media team, Art Club, and has been an exceptional intern with the MAC Department. Her favorite memories in her long years with us have been with her friends. “The moments at Spring Trips, Senior Lounge, and soccer are especially memorable.” YeSo has been accepted to Kenyon College and Whitman College in the U.S. and has applied to universities in Singapore and South Korea. Upon attending university, YeSo plans to major in Design, “possibly visual design, communication design, or integrated design, and after studying more about design in university, I would like to have a job in that field.”

Congratulations, BoKyeong K., RyeoHun K., and YeSo K! You have each worked hard and shown diligence in all you’ve done. We can’t wait to see where you’ll go next, and know that we are still cheering you on even after you’ve tossed your graduation cap.
